Devotional

See what kind of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God: and so we are. The world does not know us because it did not know Him (John 3:1).

The world can know a lot about a person by knowing that person’s background. Beginning with their parents. Whether they come from a two-parent in-home background or vice versa, who are their brothers and sisters, if they have any? What was your family situation? What was going on in your house or in your friends’ houses? Was it drastically different from your own? In God’s house, it is not so. In God’s house, we are all the same. We are all loved unconditionally and deeply cared for by God. There is no ranking system, birth order, or dysfunctional parenting.

It is difficult and almost impossible for the world to imagine or even understand what it is like living in the house of God, in being a child of God. You should expect people to misunderstand you or think of you as different. When you are living out your faith, the world will begin to see how content you are due to being part of God’s family. If you get a chance, let others know they can also be a part of this great family.
