Jesus, the Anchor of the Soul

When God desired to show … the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we … might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf. (Heb. 6:17–20)[1]

 

Are there times when you feel like you are just drifting along life’s way? Not Accomplishing anything in life as if you had no purpose. Have you drifted so long that you have drifted away from God? Have you allowed the storms of life, the anxiety cause you to drift further and further away from God? Have you noticed that with every storm you seem to drift further and further away from God, and the darker things get?

 

Have you forgotten all the wonderful things of God? The joy of being close to God, without worries, and with Joy for one another.  Enjoying the goodness of God’s glorious grace. One more storm might do it, and you won’t be able to find your way back. You need to anchor the ship of your soul to stop it from drifting and keep you close to God. The Bible assures us that Jesus is strong enough to change us from the inside out. He can not only forgive you for your sins and bad choices but also adopt you into His family and fill you with eternal Joy. Jesus Is your anchor he will not let the ship of your soul drift away in life’s storms. Jesus’s anchor extends up to Heaven the place of perfection. If Jesus is with you and the world is against you, You are in the majority.
