The Word

Greetings friends, grace and peace to you in the name of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I Thank God for you, and for this wonderful opportunity to share His Word with you. Today our subject Is The word of God. Lord help me to stay focused and help me to bring understanding to everyone present. I pray In Jesus’s name. Amen.

1. In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. He was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8. He was not the light but came to bear witness about the light.
9. The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13. who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
14. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Prayer:

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. He was in the beginning with God. In the beginning, it refers to before the world came into existence. ( Turn to Eph 1:3) Words are so powerful, words are so powerful that God spoke this world into existence. Out of nothing God created the world and He spoke and it was. This is called Fiat creation-out of nothing something. Words are so powerful that by its misuse many people are destroyed, and many have excelled in life. The plainest reason why the Son of God is called the Word seems to be, that as our words explain our minds to others, so was the Son of God sent in order to reveal his Father’s mind to the world. The Son was with God in eternity past. The Son was not born into existence, He always existed, just as the Father always existed, and The Holy Spirit. Jesus stated “No one knows the Father except the Son, and no one knows the Son except the Father and those who the Father Gave Him.

3. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. All things were made by him, and not as an instrument. He was not used as an instrument, or tool to create, He actually is the agent of creation. In other words, He created everything. All of the billions of galaxies in the universe to the smallest creepy thing that crawls upon the earth, every Angel in Heaven and every animal upon the face of the earth. Without him was not anything made that was made, from the highest angel to the meanest worm. Look at Colossians Chapter 1:16. This shows how well qualified he was for the work of our redemption and salvation. The light of reason, as well as the life of sense, is derived from him and depends upon him. This eternal Word, this true Light shines, but the darkness comprehends it not. The world is so dark, that the light came into the world the darkness of men did not recognize it. He is the Life, all life comes from Him, this life is the light of men.

6. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8. He was not the light but came to bear witness about the light. John the Baptist came to bear witness concerning Jesus. Nothing more fully shows the darkness of men’s minds, than when the Light had appeared, there needed a witness to call attention to it. Christ was the true Light; that great Light that deserves to be called so. John called people to repentance so that they may be ready to receive the light. So that they may receive the one who was promised to come. They could not believe that He is the one who was to come and sit on the throne of David. Their hearts are darkened. They asked John was He the messiah, He told them no, they asked him are you Elijahs? He told them no.

9. The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13. who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. Christ was in the world when he took our nature upon him and dwelt among us. Turn to (Phil 2:5-11). The Son of the Highest was here in this lower world. He was in the world, but not of it. He came to save a lost world because it was a world of his own making. Yet the world knew him not. When he comes as a Judge, the world shall know him. Many say that they are Christ’s own, yet do not receive him, because they will not part with their sins, nor have him to reign over them. 14. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
